Following successful stops in Vancouver and Buenos Aires, Tales of the Cocktail® on Tour is taking its show on the road once again, this time to one of the largest and most culturally rich cities in the world: Mexico City. This three-day festival will feature renowned bartenders sharing their insights at a series of educational seminars by day as we dive into Mexico City’s rising cocktail scene by night. This year will mark John Deragon’s 5th year as one of the CAP leaders and his 8th overall Tales year.

A New York native, John became interested in cocktails after scouring ebay and antique shops collecting rare cocktail books and channeling his inner geek by memorizing recipe after recipe. After attending Gary Regan’s Cocktails in the Country and meeting Jim Meehan, John helped open PDT in New York City and soon became the opening beverage director. Aside from doing logistics for Tales of the Cocktail each year and various cocktail consulting procjects, he runs technical operations for Clear Channel Radio. He has a background in mechanical and computer engineering and a degree in culinary arts.

Este será el 5º año para John Deragon como uno de los líderes del Cocktail Apprentice Program (CAP) y su 8º en Tales of the Cocktail.

Originario de Nueva York, John se interesó en la coctelería al buscar minuciosamente libros raros y antiguos para su colección, en eBay y en negocios de antigüedades y canalizó su secreta obsesión interior, memorizando receta tras receta. Luego de asistir al seminario de Gary Regan Cocktails in the Country y conocer a Jim Meehan, John ayudó a abrir el bar Please Don’t Tell (PDT) en Nueva York y se convirtió en su primer director de bebidas. Además de hacer la logística para Tales of the Cocktail cada año y de trabajar en varios proyectos de consultoría, dirige las operaciones técnicas de Clear Channel Radio.

Tiene formación previa en ingeniería informática y mecánica y obtuvo un título en artes culinarias.
